Joining the
Big Stuff Advisory Board?
The Big Stuff Advisory Board is made up of people who draw on their time, expertise and networks to promote the preservation of large heritage machinery. We are looking to expand the Board to around 20 people, with at least 6 of these being younger or emerging people in the field.
We are looking for people from diverse backgrounds, including professionals, volunteers, academics and private owners, with backgrounds in fields such as materials conservation and science, heritage planning, curatorial and exhibition work, engineering, mechanical trades, architecture, industrial heritage, etc. Please tell us how you would like to contribute.
The Advisory Board is responsible for building a community of practice and engagement around Big Stuff, drawing on their personal interests, abilities and networks to create exciting and useful activities. Core activities are facilitating the triannual Big Stuff conference and keeping the Big Stuff website relevant and interesting, while other activities might range from webinars on specialist topics to the creation of resources such as a Bulletin Board for advertising jobs, skills and contracts, etc etc
